Laser scopes

I have a couple that I use indoors and they work but useless outside during the day. How powerful do they need to be to be able to see the beam during daylight under 100 yards ?

Red dot scopes do not emit a beam. Lasers emit a beam.

Red dot scopes typically have a way to adjust brightness. Lasers do not.

Are you asking about red dots or lasers?

I have a Ruger 10/22 that is set up with a laser for those night time raiders. Works quite well. LB

If I remember correctly the lazer power is limited by law to 5mw. The only way to see in daylight is go to a green dot Lazer. Surpringly thst color is more visible to the human eye. They were expensive when they first came out, but are comparable now.

Get yourself a Holosun 507C and you will really like it. It brightens up by its self. And they have solar chargers.

They turn on by movement.

You will notice when you go out at night that not only the dot is visible, but so is the beam for hundreds of yards. I have used mine to point out constellations to the grandkids.
Even though most all of them are 5mw something else also contributes to visibility. In daylight I have one (Viridian) that is visible to 100 yards, but have an Olight (600 lumen light and green lazer for comact pistol)that is only visible to 25 yards. Red dots are very variable also.
