I had Lasik back in 2002, so it's been 13-1/2yrs. It was performed by Dr. Womack in Fargo, He was at Valley Laser Vision, but now it's called TLC. I'm unsure if he moved to a competitor, or if their name changed. It's truly a weird freekin' procedure as they slice your eyeball and flop over the cornea. All light suddenly goes pitch black. When they flip your cornea back the light once again appears. Some slight burning while a fluid is added to help your healing process and bring the skin together to form scar tissue. When they say 'lay completely still', you best LAY COMPLETELY STILL!! For some follow-up care here in Bismarck I had a few appointments with Dr. Baglien at Dakota Eye Institute. He said he'd never seen a better case where the scar tissue had mostly disappeared. He didn't even need to see me for the final appointment because my eyes had healed beyond their expectations. Now that I'm in my 50's I do need reading glasses for the past six years, and was advised that might happen. But, I'm so happy that Dr. Womack switched me from near-sightedness to far-sighted. Reading glasses are a better option than wearing contacts/glasses 24hrs a day.
