It has a switch to run just one battery, which is recommended, then if you are beached running the stereo etc. and the battery afterwards wont crank the engine over you flip the switch and it connects the second battery in a still 12 volt operation to get you up and going. A safety so to speak for those of us that might beach for several hours with the beach music blasting.</p></blockquote><p></p>
