My brother drew an elk tag in nd. We found bullets now we need powder. Any local leads for 4831 with the orange label. We found some but the reviews haven’t been great. Tired of getting burned or paying more for shipping than the powder costs.
thanks in advance

What cartridge and projectile are you loading? There are options in that burn-rate that have been more available than IMR 4831. If you're dead set on IMR 4831 then your cost-effective options will be to order an 8# keg/10# case to spread out the Haz-Mat fee, or, wait until you can buy locally and pay sales tx but Haz-Mat is rolled in.

Just bad reviews on some of the places selling online.

he has a load he’s been using for years and it’s not broke so he’s not going to fix it

I may have some IMR 4831 if I dig deep enough. I will not sell anything, but I woukd consider trading something for 1000 large pistol primers. 20220404_123609.jpg

most people complaining about Haz-Mat fees. Used to be able to order 48# on one HazMat fee. Now most places you couldn’t find 48# of powder you’d use and they probably wouldn’t sell you that much either.

Paying $25-$40 hazmat on a max 2# order is a mighty bitter pill.

Good to know picked up a couple lbs of 4831sc recently for $42 so hopefully nothing wrong with it. I guess better than paying over $50 for a pound. Did see some Big Game on the shelf for only $30 the other day so some still affordable out there
