Realistically all I (or anyone) need to hunt 95-98% of animals in the world is a 30-06 and I have 2 of dad's that are Model 1903 Springfields he sporterized years ago himself including cutting, rewelding and shaping the bolt handle to clear the scope. Yet here I am with various calibers that I have acquired because I like to shoot, reload and tinker which I pretty much got from my dad. If I were to get a ND Moose tag it would probably give me the reason to buy a 375 H&H just because I think it would be cool not because a 30-06 or my 7mm RM would not be up to the task.Then again there is the 35 Whelen build I have in my head that SDMF has been trying to help with or build a modernized 6.5 swede or I could go 22 ARC with 88gr ELD-M like Tyler Freel or bring out the Model 94 Winchester 32 special (or one of the 30-30's) of dad's or I could look at working up different arrow setup for my bow. In 25yrs I have used 5 different centerfire rifle calibers (.264, .284 and 308), 1 50cal muzzleloader and 2 different arrow setups to kill whitetail and they all have worked just fine with zero reason to switch really but this is America and so far we are still free to have as many firearms in any configuration as we wish and that is what I am going to do.</blockquote>
