Message: <blockquote data-quote="Traxion" data-source="post: 487851" data-attributes="member: 983"><p>Education doesn’t have to be a 4 year degree.  In fact I know a company man who worked his way from roughneck to driller to where he is now with zero education.  No matter the path after school, be it straight to work, tech school, or higher, the more a student has mastered basic reading, writing, and mathematics, the better their life outcome and likely earnings will be.  </p><p></p><p>Having a solid educational base is the biggest single factor in keeping kids out of poverty or getting them out of it.  Generational poverty is a real thing.   If I’m choosing when to spend, I’d rather do it early to give some of these kids the opportunity and skills to not be in assistance later.  </p><p></p><p>Socialism now or later I guess.</p></blockquote><p></p>
