We added trees to the plains, we got deer. We take away trees, we lost deer. I’m spoiled as shit in that I hunt river breaks that have never been turned and they’ve always been good habitat. If there was a downturn in the deer population, I never noticed it. </p><p></p><p>Some time ago, I proposed that we hunters step up and start paying more for conservation by way of increasing the price of our habitat stamp and I was lambasted. You can’t have game without habitat. Complain about one tag all you want, even change how tags are allocated. It won’t fix the fundamental problem.</p></blockquote><p></p>
