I’m enjoying the summer sausage from last year’s pronghorn for lunch. A few nights ago, we picked up some Greek food from a local eatery (GP’s Kitchen in south Fargo - HIGHLY recommend!) Anyway, I had some leftover tzatziki sauce in the fridge so I threw it on my summer sausage sandwich. JACKPOT.

If you’re unfamiliar, tzatziki is basically plain Greek yogurt seasoned with garlic, dill, and cucumber. It doesn’t taste like yogurt, it’s more like sour cream. Anyway, it pairs very well with summer sausage if you wanna try something different.

Lincoln, kinda...
Just as important as toppings, what kind of bread are you using?

For sandwiches, I tend to prefer rye or sourdough.

Thanks, going to give tzatziki a try. I'm with BB on the miracle whip but This looks healthier and the way I smear it on it's probably 100 calories less per sandwich.

Just toasted white bread cuz that’s all I had. And sharp cheddar. And smoked Turkey.

I can't stand bread sandwiches. Buns if packing a lunch, toast for hot sandwich at home. Bread takes me back to soggy PB&J sandwiches in elementary school.

Lived out of a lunch bucket for many years but I still like sandwiches. My go to Tube Steak sandwich recipe. 2 slices of Sarah Lee whole grain toast with butter raw onions with cheese and miracle whip with Cloverdale tangy summer sausage and a bowl of homemade soup on the side.

True story ... Dad coached football, basketball and track in Bottineau for 20 years and Botno hosted an invitational trackmeet on the first Saturday in May. One of his weight (shot putt and discus) athletes didn't perform well and Dad asked him what he had for lunch. "Mom made me onion and horseradish sandwiches" ... and then Dad would say "They aren't bad either!" Personally I wouldn't know.

I rarely eat sandwiches at home anymore. But my go to for throwing in the pack on hunts is about 4oz of Cloverdale tangy, 2 slices aged sharp cheddar, on a croissant. I will toss in a packet of Hellmans mayo and mustard. The croissant seems to hold up well to the pack abuse, the SS and sharp cheddar do OK in warmer weather, and the packets of condiments are just convenient as hell.

Can't get Cloverdale down here and man am i craving Cloverdale tangy!!!!!!!!!!! :;:rockit

I am not a big jelly fan and never have been. Most will find this strange but i have never in my life had a PB&J sandwich.
Just doesn't sound good to me.
But i do like PB and honey sandwiches or did when i was a youngster.
Also put butter on top of the plain peanut butter sandwiches. Tasted better.
