My FL-18 is all I'll probably ever get, unless I get a camera too.

^ Agree completely snow. I know my buddies that have the FL-28 would never go back to an 18 or 20. Guess it's kinda like our boat graphs...my first boat...old bass boat...had an old Hummingbird that only show'd depth and fish marks...no map/contours...no water temp...no speed..no downscan...no sidescan. I can't imagine fishing "blind" like that now. My uncle that taught me what fishing out of a boat was like would laugh at us today!

As far as sensitivity, sparation, ect probably not a big difference between my 18, 20 or 28. What really sold me on the 28 was fishing outside on Lake Winnipeg. Doesn't matter if the sun is shining straight down on that thing, you can see it clear as a bell. And the auto depth is pretty nice too. Not so much for up there but I do like that as well.

when the depth changes the damn thing should momentarily reset the bottom zoom - on it’s own!

reaching down and toggling the autozoom button at every hole while hopping is DUMB

My FL-18 has a bottom lock, (I never use it), but I think thats all it would take is to have it on that setting when hole hopping.
