This particular Supercub has an alternator and starter. Most Supercubs did (some of the first/early 95 hp supercubs did not). Some of the different variations of motors did not allow for the use of a starter, but those were mostly found on the lighter J3 Cubs 65-90 hp.  (Hand propping). </p><p></p><p>This Supercub of dads will also be getting a lightweight starter and alternator, which will cut another 15-20 lbs. Once a few of the composite propellers are fully certified, it'll get one of those also, which will be another 15-20 lbs lighter than the Borer prop going on it. </p><p></p><p>Our last bird, a 90 hp taylorcraft did not have a starter, so we had to hand prop each time to start.</p></blockquote><p></p>
