Yup. I saw this. Personally, I do have to close that dominant eye all the way. If I don’t it really messes with me. Shooting a bow through a peep sight is where it helps my shot the most to have it fully closed because if I don't I have all sorts of double vision happening when trying to line up the shot. Unfortunately, that is also where I hate the most that I lose that peripheral vision especially when there are other deer around I’d like to keep my other eye on when I’m at full draw. I have read that there are different levels of cross dominance and that a small number of people even have co-dominant eyes, where neither is more dominant than the other. Maybe the level of "one eye over the other" determines if one can or cannot leave the dominant eye open somewhat when they are shooting? As unique as each individual's level of sight, hearing, intelligence, memory, coordination, steadiness, strength, etc. is and how those unique levels affect everything we do - I would have to assume the level of this cross dominant hand/eye thing varies greatly among individuals as well and how much we have to compensate for it is equally as diverse. I don’t know, but like I said I’m glad someone clued me in before I led my child down the wrong path.
