Will dig 9 or 10 inches per trip. And would put on 5 ft extention. After about 10 ft down would take the top sections off so was easy to handle. We drilled the hole in less than 3 hrs and never worked are ass off. It was new to us, so we learned as we went. The person on top of the step ladder got a work out till we abandoned that idea.You do want to tighten up the joints with pipe wrenches. You do not want it coming apart 20 ft down. Then trying to thread it back on. Don't ask how I know that.</p><p></p><p>I forgot to add, we put 4 inch PVC pipe down the hole with a  Submersible pump and one inch plastic to the top of the hole. It was used to water the yard and garden.</p></blockquote><p></p>
