during their short 16 years on this planet, no one bothered to warn them of the painful death methanol causes. You would think everyone already knew stoves are hot, electricity is deadly, placing a firecracker on your head is never a good idea, and the stuff that goes into a car causes death when drank, but for a select few I guess word of mouth and warning labels are never enough.

Just wondering whatever gave them the notion to spike their dew with racin fuel??? I get a feeling something among their peers probably double dared them to do such a stupid thing and this was the end result. Don't know if they were trying to be 'tough' guys and take the challenge??? Either way, they let influence of peer pressure overrule common sense. Tragic...yes...but man...what the hell were they thinking? seriously.

I'd blame it on Dale Jr for having that Mountain Dew car that runs on similar fuel. Hope none of them have reproduced yet. It's a sad deal, but unfortunately they are old enough to know better so I can't feel too bad for them.

Had a room mate in college who would drink scope mouth wash and poke holes in Lysol aerosol cans and drink that too when he and his buddies would run out of booze. He was a well to do white guy farmer rancher who grew up on the MHA rez.

as a young fella, I never seemed to have problems finding a "buyer", sometimes a buddy would have an older brother/sister, or just hanging outside the liquor store and getting someone to pick up a jug for us.

I would have guessed the fuel would have had a burning sensation when drinking it?

It seems like we were better off when teenagers could just get booze. Keep making the fines and penalties for minors with beer harsher and they'll find something else to use for a buzz.

Strange - not one poster mentioned that better parenting might have made a difference. Growing up thru HS I never had more than an occasional beer that Dad supplied late on Friday night after we played a football game.

But still sad that young lives were snuffed out.
