Message: <blockquote data-quote="NodakBuckeye" data-source="post: 62696" data-attributes="member: 714"><p>I am probably in the minority, but I like the basic methods in "gun dog".  I know it is an old book and newer methods are out there, but it works and is pretty simple to do and gives a high rate of sucess on the basics.  I have only had 2 labs and a llewellin.   Introduced my first lab to gunfire while playing and she was at heel at each station on the sporting clays range by 9 weeks.  My experience has been that dogs that can stay inside with the family work better in the field, playing into the pack mentality I suppose.  Anyway, congrats, enjoy!  Soon as we get the house from lease to mortgage, the boy is getting a yellow lab, unless he changes gears yet again.  My lab is in Ohio living the life of Riley, we sure miss him.</p></blockquote><p></p>
