[QUOTE="Retired Educator, post: 110008, member: 3373"] Vinyl siding is the most common type of siding to have hail damage. That isn't necessarily a bad thing as it's pretty obvious that it is damaged. There are visible holes, kind of hard to miss. The same is true for shingles. May look ok from ground, go up and you will see the damage. Most insurance companies are good about covering the damage. Especially in a town or city, it's pretty obvious that a storm went through when most of the houses in a neighborhood have damage. The down side in a city the size of Bismarck is that there is a lot of work for a limited number of contractors. [B]Do be careful of fly/by/night contractors. Fading will be the issue. If the siding is pretty new (like a year or less old) that might be possible but check a new piece versus the old prior to thinking replacing a piece hear and there is a good idea. Hopefully the color you have is still in stock. Storm repair is a pain to deal with but be thankful you still have a house to repair and all you had was a hail storm instead of a tornado.
