i know some of you guys on here are softball players and hit up quite a few tournaments, i thought it would be cool to get a thread going for softball tourneys if there were a few of us at the same tournament we could meet up around one or the others cooler and have an NDA meeting to talk about docking tails smoking mushkys and our morning coffee breaks thanks to 2400. anyone else gonna be strapping up the laces for another season of beer drinking ball smacking and putting up with punks in white framed sunglasses?! my first tourney is this weekend playing in the early tourny in St. Hilare MN

I'm out for this season. My lower back problems are keeping me out. Oh darn, looks like more weekends to go fishing!

I play on the bottom league, and we won our city league last year. Helps that we have a couple young guys that aren't fat and lazy yet, that can really carry the team.
I play for the beer drinking with buddies part of it all, but yeah we have a couple guys that think its a life or death game every time we play, sometimes really sucks the fun right out of it. I am sure not going to bust my balls and pay for it all week with being sore and grumpy.

I don't participate in the tourneys either, as that is valuable weekend time meant for my family, fishing, or riding.

Gave it up many years ago when last buffalo went over hill.

Sometimes I guess, mostly I hit a infield ball, make it to first, then call in a younger better kneed guy to finish it up for me.

Gave it up. Too many idiots thinking they're going to make it to the MLB.

That...and the fact if you don't drink a case a beer after practice, game day or tourney...they don't want you on the team.
Tried for years to get on a team, just a bunch of stuck up mutha fo azzholes here in williston.

Played all winter in McAllen Texas with the Rocking Chair Softball Team. We actually beat the number one team of McAllen and Edinburg. We won two out of four games last season with the wins being the first in eleven years. LOLOL I am 68 so take the summers off to heal up for hunting season. Right arm still hurts from playing tennis 3 days a week.

Played a lot back in the day. Tournament most weekends but rarely did we do to a 2-3 day tournament. A Sunday tournament in towns less than an hour drive away provided lots of entertainment without costing much and taking the whole weekend. Quit when I realized I could no longer go from 1st to 2nd on a hit that used to be a for-sure double. Play golf now and you don't have to run between shots. That and you can have a beer between shots and the cart has a beer holder and room for a cooler. Practice? We always thought we were good enough without it. Before the first game of the season we might get together some evening to do a little hitting and enough throwing to make sure we didn't have a sore arm the next day for the game. We played to win but it certainly wasn't life and death.

The two years I played amateur baseball and rec 1 softball have left their marks on me. The torn calf solidified my summers in a boat.
