We went to Cancun last year, was really nice, made an afternoon trip to Cozumel. We go to Cabo annually, and have to say of all the trips I have taken in Mexico, Cabo is my fav, probably just because it is so familiar now after all these trips there. Feels like home as we have gotten to know some of the locals.
Less humidity on the west side too, which is good for us northerners.

Stay at the Marina Fiesta John? Great place. Walk out the gate and boom....middle of the action board walk marina.
