Looking at the map of syria after the U.S. pounded the shit out of isis hot spots yesterday this move,take over by rebels cuts off arms resupply to hamas and hezbolla and gives Israel a clear airspace to hit iran ,good time to finish the job once and for all.

The bottom line is that Assad's regime fell because Russia could no longer afford the manpower and weapons needed to keep his ass in power. They are too busy with Ukraine to worry about Syria, the Congo, and a small handful of other places in Africa they've been trying to prop up unpopular governments.
