Forgive my ignorance on this, if somebody could point me in the right direction. Say you shoot an animal in the badlands, doe or buck and quarter the animal out. My understanding the tag for the animal is transported with the meat, and the carcass tag is what you give the butcher to get it processed. Do you leave something with the carcass? Same goes for a CWD animal, what do you leave with the carcass. I want to follow the reg's, but cannot find it clearly written.

You don't leave anything with the carcass, that's for the coyotes

Tag stays with the head, which you have to pack out.

Carcass tag stays with the meat.

At least that's my understanding...Please correct me if I'm wrong.
