I don't doubt what he says is the truth because a lot of guys that fish the bridge just cast as far as they can so if a boat is in that range they think it's too close and will whine about it. 100ft isn't very far away but that is all that's required by law. In my opinion Grano becomes a problem because the shore guys aren't used to having to deal with boats fishing in the same spot and when they do they don't want to change their program at all hence the casting into the boat. There is no reason to think you own the water and that only shore fisherman can fish the bridge.
The point of this forum is to talk outdoors and to inform others if you run into issues so maybe they won't experience the same thing. What Velva posted is good info as a lot of people myself included haven't put our boats away and will continue to fish until freeze up. I don't doubt what he says is the truth because a lot of guys that fish the bridge just cast as far as they can so if a boat is in that range they think it's too close and will whine about it. 100ft isn't very far away but that is all that's required by law. While fishing Devils Lake you get piles of boats in along the bridges and guess what there are usually a lot of shore guys there too. Occasionally there are issues that arise but most of the time you just fish and that's it. In my opinion Grano becomes a problem because the shore guys aren't used to having to deal with boats fishing in the same spot and when they do they don't want to change their program at all hence the casting into the boat. If I was in the same situation I can guarantee you they would only hit my boat 1 time before it was over. I would have been up on shore in a confrontation. There is no reason to think you own the water and that only shore fisherman can fish the bridge.
