Tiger trout ice fishing

I had the pleasure of catching 3 of these beautiful and rare fish through the ice yesterday. Took close up videos of their patterns and colours. Caught all 3 on a small jig and salted minnow.

Got my personal best this week 17 3/4 inch along with a 17 1/4 inch brown as I was taking a pic with the tiger

Used to catch lots of tigers up in the Ducks. Caught some over 5lbs in Saskatchewan. Have one hanging on the wall. They are a cool fish. I miss fishing up there.

Hey Tom,cool video! thanx for sharing,never came across or even herd of a tiger trout until this thread,I see they are a sterile hybrid crossed with a brown,we have a like species here in Mn along the north shore of superior called splake trout" cross between a lake trout and brookie(called spec's).I see the dnr of nebraska started stocking tiger trout in creek along the nebraska panhandle,would'nt mind for the wall,darn pretty fish.

There are naturally occurring hybrids where browns and brook coexist. I've heard/read mixed opinions on their 100% sterility. I read last night either Minnesota or Michigan is a hotspot for natural hybrids. I believe it was your neck of the woods.
