plains and how have you demonstrated this "mutual respect" on these sites over the years? "Rip, Rape and Run" "Hands in the tax payer pockets" "greedy ranchers" wild accusations you do not prove as truth ect..... but I suppose those comments were made in a "respectful manner"? Once again MOST people involved in the dynamic of hunting are good people and share respect when it is earned. So that is a easy out answer to a slightly more difficult question. there are a couple parts to why this bill keeps popping up. 1. orgs like DU, the Sierra Club, NWF, The Natural Resources group here in our state ect... keep legislating their agendas instead of working WITH ag. They are just like plainsman, as long as ag does what they want...they support ag. What people like plains won;t admit is these groups are legislating rules imposing on how people make a living to protect how they recreate. I don;t care what profession you are in, if you had to deal with people impacting how you provide for your family so their recreation opportunites can be better it would impact how you view those people in those orgs Unfortunately the hunter bears the brunt of the back lash against these orgs and their agendas when their members are out in the country setting decoys with their stickers in the back window. It was refreshing to see so many sportsmen here in our state understanding this and voting down the DU measure a couple years back. But if one recalls the conversation on these sites, the same loud voices were making the same accusations and claims in a less than "respectful" manner. Those people might be surprised if they knew how many farmers check out those threads without ever posting in them. This site for a while seemed to be missing that, but eventually it made it's way here. Maybe this would be a good time to ask this question again. plains would you tell us exactly why YOU think no one remains posting over on Nodak Outdoors where you are the moderator? 2. the "Jackass" portion of this bill. My offer of a solution, leave the laws the same and increase the penalties for Trespass to actually make the jackass stop and think if that big buck is really worth it. I just read where hunting privileges can be suspended for one year so what would it take??
