Message: <blockquote data-quote="KDM" data-source="post: 248944" data-attributes="member: 314">I just finished reading the bill and it still has unneeded written all over it.  First:  In section 20.1-1-18 it states  "An individual may hunt or pursue game, or enter for those purposes, upon legallyposted land belonging to another without first obtaining the permission of the person legallyentitled to grant the same permission.  Which shows it needs to have a NOT before hunting as this statement gives everyone permission to do whatever.  SMHSecond:  Section 20.1-01-20 Entering private land with a hunting license and a gun or firearmprima facie evidence of intent to hunt game.Proof that an individual had a firearm, or other weapon declared legal bygovernor's proclamation, and a valid license to hunt game in therelevant area when the individual entered upon the private premises of anotherwithout permission of the owner or tenant is prima facie evidence the individual enteredto hunt or pursue game"  Basically saying that if you go over to someone's house, ie private land, with a gun in your truck and a hunting licence in your pocket, it's prima facia evidence that you intend to hunt game.  What if that land is posted??  Does this mean you are now hunting on posted land and can be cited??  SMH  Seems to me all members of this committee to oversee this proposed land marking database is all designated and not elected so how again are the folks of ND supposed to be involved in decisions again?????  SMHThe database isn't mandatory for landowners so it's usefulness is very questionable and will only add confusion and costs without showing any benefits that I can see AND the old way of posting is still in use which then begs the question WHY DO WE NEED THIS AGAIN????? It's still garbage legislation that is unneeded, unwanted, will cost everyone in taxes, adds layers of bureaucracy and confusion, adds increased burden for law enforcement and doesn't prevent trespassing in any way.  I hope this thing dies today!!</blockquote>
