A little late, but fished 6/29-7/2 in absolutely incredible weather. Best four days of wind I've experienced on Sak. First day we fished the north end of the Hook, did really well in 16' on cranks. The next day we fished from the Casino, both north and south. Water water much muddier in the river. Lots of smaller fish, including lots of sauger, mostly deeper 20-24', again on cranks. We still ended up with a lot of nice fish, just fewer than the other days. Saturday we traveled all over Van Hook and caught fish with lots of methods. Best depth again was 16-18'. Water clarity is far less the closer to the river you get. Sunday fished a partial day again in the north part of the Hook. Each day we could have put a really nice 2 man limit in the boat. We never found the madness bite or big numbers, but did find good quality fish. Marked tons of fish and bait, with many big pods of fish not wanting to bite. Seemed like covering ground was better than any spot on the spot we found. Fun to see the hundreds of boats out there enjoying the weather. Incredible fishery right now!

I fished the 3rd-5th. Didn't have as nice of weather as you, it was WINDY and COLD on the 4th, bordering on comical how cold and windy it was. Nephew has lived in AZ the past 5 years and thought he was gonna die in 56 degree weather out on the water over the 4th.

Anyway, fishing was decent, but probably best described as scattered. We used spinners and snells with crawlers and caught fish as shallow as 5 ft and as deep as 30 ft in the north part of Van Hook.

On the 4th it was probably the fewest boats I've ever seen at the ramp over any 4th of July weekend. I don't think there were 10 boats that put in and were on the water from the main ramp while we were out.

We ended up keeping 40 fish over three outings (not quite a limit) and right around half of them were above 20 inches with four or five right at 24 inches. Smallest we kept was 16 inches. Made for some really nice packages of fish for the family.

fished out of van hook the last 3 days and moving is the name of the game until you find an active bite. Sometimes it’s 16ft others it’s 25-30ft. When you find them it’s fast fast. We were lucky enough to bounce around and move just having fun and landed on 3 phenomenal spots were at times every rod was brining a fish in
