Finally got out to fish, but fishing alone as wife's father took a turn for the worse and the girls placed him in Hospice care. Found fish in 15-20 FOW, but unable to get them to bite. Found an island that was 42'-46' FOW stack full of fish and finally got them to bite. But it meant I was keeping everything I caught, except the 2 catfish I let go. Luckily I caught 10 fish in 2 days 17"-22" inch range. Perfect for the frying pan. Used 36" leaders, white and chartreuse florescent hooks with soft glow beads, (white ones and green ones in color) with an 1 1/2 ounce bottom bouncers controlled drifting at .07 - 1.0 mph. YMMV..... Have some friends coming from Fargo to fish early next week. Will fish south Van Hook & Pouch point area. Just wondering if any general fishing reports, good or bad? Any info would be helpful as these friends are coming a long way.
