The zero stop is much better than the gen 1. I have no complaints about mine. There’s a lot of brands that make similar products in the 1000-1300 price range.
Satisfied with mine so far!

That Nighforce is ????? at Scheels. Hmmm maybe I'm thinking of the wrong scope. Oh I am, sorry. Ya I have a number of Vortex, but I sure would like that Nightforce.

I got a gen1 on my 6.5x284 and really like it for my first scope of its type, even if I haven't fully used it to its full potential yet. At the time I got mine I think I paid $700ish vs another $700 for a nightforce, about 6yrs ago.

Another good option in that price range would be the Bushnell Elite LRHS 4.5-18x44. There's a 30% rebate through today:

https://www.opticsplanet.com/bushnell-elite-tactical-hunter-4-5-18x44mm-riflescope.html

that is an excellent scope. low profile turrets. wont get caught on your gun pack/scabbard like the vortex can and some times do. I own them both will take the bushnell over the vortex.

actually to be honest some of you may laugh but the guy who got me into this long range shooting has 2 custom guns by mcwhorter and a 3rd by GA precision. the GA is the newest one and he topped it with this bushnell over the nightforce, Schmidt and bender etc.....

Only if you're an "over-thinker". Reticle sub-tensions are static being FFP. Adjustments and reticle sub tensions are in MILS. Run your ballistics tables/APP in MILS and dial to the number it tells you. Don't over-think and try to convert that number to inches, MOA, or clicks. Just dial and shoot.

SDMF, that's good to know, I have a little problem with over-thinking
