I went out to ex brother in laws fish house last sunday..caught 3 walleyes.....not poor but not excellent but caught fish...so how serious do you guys take the fishing forecast the app says?????? I go when I can and look at expected weather conditions. Meteorologists can't get the weather right 1 day in advance half the time. I really should start paying a little better attention to the barometer and moon phases more out of curiosity.

I think the way to do it is to keep a fishing log and then enter the weather information for the day.
That way you can (hopefully) see correlations between conditions and how the fishing was.

Not my idea, this is something Captain Brad talked about at his catfish seminar last year.

Don't matter what the fishing calendar says, if I have time to fish, I'm goin fishing! Better than sitting home doing a honey do list!

Going fishing with W/NW wind and before a major weather front usually helps, but you can catch in all conditions if right place right time. I hate east winds. Sometimes I stay home with those on the forecast. That or immediately after a huge front. More times than not those conditions make a tough bite.

I agree with the east wind thing. For whatever reason I have always had a tougher time with that direction and I assume it has something to do with pressure changes. I also feel that certain species react differently to weather conditions so maybe instead of going after walleye that might be finicky I might choose to target pike. I have also seen where gills might act tight lipped but crappies are willing takers and vise versa.
