For the taking of the Black Hills. Those lands were given to them by treaty.

Which I always found funny since they are no more native to the black Hills then I am. The Sioux act like they lived in the hills for thousands of years instead of the 90 or so that they did. Hell the only reason they ever got the black Hills in the first place was made possible by the white man but you won't see that in any of our history books. Sure never hear the Sioux talk about the arikaras claim to the hills since that's who they took it from. Hell all of standing rock is Mandan and arikara ground and the sioux were only ever able to get it from them after they were wiped out buy a smallpox epidemic that took out 75% of the three affiliated tribes in one shot. Only then did the Sioux expand into the land west of the river eventually arriving in the hill in the oh so ironic year of 1776! The Sioux are native to the great Lakes area from WI over to Ohio. Funny how two groups invade from the east 100 years apart declaring war on the tribes that were there and somehow we're the ones that are supposed to feel bad about it well they are play the victim card!
