I care about the cops and others who have to mop this crap up but care little about DAPL, the protesters, govt's crapola handling early on, etc.

standard operating procedure by politicians these days. Meh.

Si. How would you handle this if you were in charge?

Skateparks. It's a real Petri dish of society. Everyone belongs, especially those who don't.

I am in Idaho and the people here are wondering why we let this bullshit go on for so long.

Because these people are still going to be our neighbors when all this is over. There seem to be a lot of natives who act accordingly, even if instinctively. Mind you these 200 protesters today were thought to be the "hardcore" few. When you watch the footage of today's activities, the LEOs operated with great care and an unmistakable concern for the wellbeing of the protesters. Likewise, the scuffling that occurred amongst the protesters seemed to be just a few asswipes getting out of line and the locals trying to rein them in. I think there are a lot of people on that protest line who are genuinely just as concerned about burning bridges as they are about the pipeline going on. Unfortunately none of these protesters have the advantage of being on the outside looking in and don't realize they're being used by Archambeault and out-of-stayers.

This is very true.

On kxmb ch 12 news it showed a white pick-up tearing around and then a silver truck crashed into it. The driver of the white truck was said to be dapl security and had a rifle. They showed him in the water with protesters. Strange. Oh, and the torched that white truck lol.

Where did you read that? I have a credible source who says they revenue is about the same. Other areas, like the Kwik mart have been doing 5-6 times better than average.

I believe it was in a Bismarck Tribune article. Or another local newspaper source. I don't gamble and laugh at those who do so I could care less. But it would seem to me the tribe is hurting itself more than they may think. Maybe it is all my opinion, but once this is over I don't think Standing Rock is going to be looked on any differently. That is why I don't get it.

What do you do if you're the DAPL? I mean, your private security forces can do nothing (what a terrible job, private security for them!), yet you've got equipment being trashed or destroyed? They don't give that stuff away and yet you can't hardly protect it. That would really, really bother me.

Here's my question for those who aren't in favor of how law enforcement is handling this issue (which I know are very few on this page), so what if some person was refusing to leave his hotel room at the casino and wasn't paying for his room? Let's say he wasn't causing any issues but just sitting on the bed refusing to leave. What do you think the casino would do? And how do you think they would expect the people they called to handle it? Yeah, that's what I thought.

I would have got on it when there were 40 protesters, not 400.
