The light compounds in the oil will evaporate in the first few days taking away about half the spill with it. What doesnt evaporate will be collected or eventually break down by the sun or eaten by microorganisms. It would suck but spills are not near the death sentence people seem to think they are. I would love to know how much in toxic crap gets into the river from street run off. Can say the muck on the bottom of the drainage ditch in south bismarck is definitely not just silt!!!</p></blockquote><p></p>
