This is the 3rd time I tried to write this, first my tablet changed sites or linked over somehow, now my main computer is acting up. Maybe there is something too all this spirit stuff LOL First Dean: The Pine Ridge boys were told to leave, at least the ones wanting to go crazy....so I've heard. ?? The camp on the south side of the river is small, only maybe 10 tents as of Wed. Second Trip: I was with you on the what if some other country had conquered the plains or for that matter all of USA tribes. You could look to Mexico and South America and conjecture about Spain and Portugal, and you could look to Canada to see the results of losing the Revolutionary War. What if the death out of it and you may be right, they could have been totally wiped out. But they weren't. They won enough battles to EARN THE TREATIES THEY SIGNED. Then you mad a statement so false it shows how little you know of the history. "Kill the Indian, Save the Man" was US policy. The made it AGAINST THE LAW to practice many of their ceremonies. Kind of ironic, that a country founded on freedom of religion, then makes it ILLEGAL for its Native population to practice theirs own religion. Boarding schools were built hundreds of miles from the reservations. Kids were literally rounded up, and forced to these schools. They were BEATEN FOR SPEAKING THEIR OWN LANGUAGE! I agree that assimilation would be the best path, but what makes me right? There are those who are holding on and holding on to a past that is no more. They are struggling to save their language. I could go gst on you guys and find hundreds of links and make page after page of boring posts, and still not change one missguided mind out there. Most are just showing how little they really know about the situation. The news is not 100% accurate and is starting to look like propaganda.
