Kind of ironic, that a country founded on freedom of religion, then makes it ILLEGAL for its Native population to practice theirs own religion. Boarding schools were built hundreds of miles from the reservations. Kids were literally rounded up, and forced to these schools. They were BEATEN FOR SPEAKING THEIR OWN LANGUAGE! I agree that assimilation would be the best path, but what makes me right? There are those who are holding on and holding on to a past that is no more. They are struggling to save their language. I could go gst on you guys and find hundreds of links and make page after page of boring posts, and still not change one missguided mind out there.</p><p></p><p>Most are just showing how little they really know about the situation. The news is not 100% accurate and is starting to look like propaganda.</p></blockquote><p></p>
