Fished Thursday afternoon through Saturday morning last week with my son. Caught the nicer fish in the middle of the night on rattle reels. Son had a great time and had some nice weather. Snow pack seems to have settled nicely and pulled perm about 3 miles from access. Get away from the crowds and you will find fish!

Nicely done. We were out in the New Town area on Saturday. We only caught a few walleye, and a bunch of cisco. Watching the cisco chase the baits on the livescope was fun, though.

Ya I was contemplating New Town area, but decided to drive the extra hour and go to white earth. Haven’t ice fished New Town much.

They are also tasty smoked. Caught a bunch end of the year.

Has anyone ever went after these Tulibee and would be willing to share any tips on where to try for them, not 8 digit grid, but general direction/ depth/time of year? Thanks.

Man, I don’t know. They strike me as awful greasy. I’d try it, though.
Well, if you ever get into them again, keep a few. I gutted, scaled and left heads on. Brined for about 8 hours dried and smoked to about 160. Not greasy at all and meat is white-pink and if you like smoked trout or salmon, you will like tulibee as they are whitefish and member of the salmonids.

I wish we had kept more than the 20 or so we kept as we were a little skeptical about the idea and did not go nuts keeping but we caught over 50
