Ok short version

Db said asshole had camera on his hunting land.

Said asshole makes account on here and has different stories provides picture proof of db on camera running over bait piles put out for kids and looking at the camera all mad and than posted onx of said property. The land is owned by guy with camera and pictures and db had food plots and a blind on that land for years under an agreement. Seems northern side is under agreement of what the agreement is any more

I appreciated his explanation although I think the pictures spoke volumes. I'm sorry he left because I did have one other question for him. If he shot a deer and it ran over the Canadien border before dying, can he legally retrieve it?

No, well, yes, but, it's a process. Contacting US Border Patrol will be necessary at some point so they understand the situation. USBP can't just watch you go get one in Canada and drag it back. You'd have to somehow get in touch w/RCMP to start the process.

I've talked to 1/2Dz USBP officers in North Central MT and I know a retired one up there pretty well. They've all basically told me the same thing, don't call me, I can't help you. We've taken multiple deer <2Mi from the border and a couple just 1/2Mi S of the border. about a decade back, 3 days in a row I tried to sneak in on a buck only to have him slip across the border before I could get him.

I'm going to say yes, you just have to talk to the canadians first... Many years ago my brother had an elk tag for up there. We found a landowner up by the peace gardens that wanted them all shot cuz they were destroying his hay. His land was diretly tied to the border. He also worked at the border crossing up there and told us that if my brother did shoot one and it went across the border and died, to get ahold of him and he would go with us to talk to the canadians to help facilitate the retrieval of the downed animal.

going to go out on a limb and assume the first 3 questions were kinda meant to be serious?
1. I can't say, but I wouldn't think so.
2. This was like 10 years ago... don't know if there are new rules...
3. Don't imagine there would be an tariffs as it was a hunted animal and not something that was purchased... I mean a 50%(or whatever the current tarriffs are) tarriff on something that costs 0$ is 0$....

Like I said, I'm just assuming these questions may have been asked seeking real answers... mainly because of q.2, but kinda hard to tell anymore when people are trolling or not...

If one were friends with the landowner on the Canada side of the border, perhaps they could drag it back to the border, tie a rope around it and toss the rope across to the American side of the border, which would allow the American to pull the animal back to the U.S. side of the border and get it loaded up?

I'm sure there would be a Predator loitering above watching it all, but I can't think of any laws being broken in the above scenario.
