WTB 22 hornet

Want to buy a Ruger 22 Hornet, preferably a new one because I don’t want to spent $2000 on a gun I shouldn’t shoot. Ruger super black hawk or 77/22 preferred. Let me know if you see one at a local ND gun shop!

Got a .223 in that configuration back around 2007-8'ish. I maybe paid $600 for the total package, it's a heck of a shooter but I got a little lax on my gun care and got a little surface rust in a few spots that I need to figure out how to take care of carefully. Great shooting gun, daughters were killing the 8 & 10in steel's out to 200yds last summer. Hind sight I wish I would have gone with the 204 Ruger or 220 swift Scheels had sitting next to it but at least if I don't feel like reloading I can grab some decent priced ammo and go shoot.
Fine steel wool and some light oil for the rust. You're likely going to lose a little bit of that target gray coating. Late 90's when I worked for Scheels in Forks there was a guy who had quite a few of those target Rugers that he'd polished SHINY, gotten rid of that dull gray altogether.

I bet with some more practice, the kiddos could cut the target size in half or double the range and still be ringing them.

That is kind of my plan on the light rust.
200 was the limiting factor because it was corn last year around the range, thoughts are to have them on smaller targets for simplicity and when we feel like it start bump them out a little. That 10" at 175-200yds was almost too easy for them. If its beans this year I should be able to play for most of the summer
