Culling a barn full of chickens or turkeys makes sense because tweety birds are a constant threat of carrying the disease to other barns.
In a wild setting I just don’t understand the thought process - the necessary controls aren’t in place AND the prions supposedly render the place a reinfection hotspots “for decades” if we’re to believe “the science”.
After the cull, non-affected deer move back in and you start culling all over again?
