If your running one of these your good to go....if it more along the lines of a Lund or Ranger your going to have to wait. Well unless you have a boat small enough to drop into the hole under the bridge.

She's pretty much good to go. A fair bit of ice east of the bridge and a bit on the west side but its all broken up and going fast. The ramp was clear when I was there with no ice on the pavement.IMG_20160314_113431.jpg

Forgot to mention Cattail is also open. A chunk more ice slabs down there but like beaver today's wind and heat should take care of most of it.

Its really opened up in the last week!! In the two days Ft. Yates went from iced up on Friday, to Sunday open all the way across to cattail bay!

After the wind last night and this morning its all open by Yates now. This is the fastest I've ever seen the ice dissipate.

Any reports on the bays (4mile, Porcupine, etc)? Are they open as well or just the main lake?

Thanks

Should be open most everywhere north of Yates at this point. Not sure to the south but the south ice line was rocketing north faster then our side was going south so would have to think they have either met up yesterday or will very soon. Porcupine would have been getting pounded yesterday so she should be open. The pic of cattail is taken 3/4's of the way to the head of the bay facing north to my buddys cabin on the north shore. The head of cattail opened up three weeks ago and with lake rising at a decent clip I'm guessing that freed up the shoreline and aided in a rapid breakup.

With the wind this morning I can't see ANY ice even looking south of Yates!! Just crazy how fast it went.

I was in your area on saturday. The mouth of the cannonball was a washing machine. Which is good because my friend spilled two clam diggers in my boat. The waves coming over the bow helped kick some of it out.
