Has anyone tried eating dandelions with morel shrooms on baked catfish.

My wife always buys spring mix for salads, at one point she pointed out there is dandelions in it. I used to like it but now I swear I can taste 24d every time we have it.

Better than the MF'n red root pig weed that comes later, Milestone in the fall after a good hard frost and you'll be amazed at how many dandelions you won't have along with all kinds of other weeds.

When i was a young whipper snapper an old timer made some dandelion wine. Gave some to my folks and i snuck a swig once and it was very good. Don't know how he made it or how many of those darn things it took.
I hated those darn things on the farm. We sprayed for them along with wormwood and thistles. Neighbors never sprayed and we had seeds blowing in the yard all the time. Really torqued me but what can you do.
Was down in the Black Hills last weekend and man are there dandelions in the towns down there. Solid yellow in spots. Next will be those darn thistles as they seem to be taking over the Black Hills.

we found out the hard way that "free compost" from cities is no longer of any use in gardens - due to the residual herbicides

I started several years ago spraying in the fall. Works very well. About that time, I realized I wasn't getting any fruit from my apple trees. Seems I drove the honey bees away. If it ain't one thing, its the next.

so when you talk about eating a dandelion are you eating the whole thing head and all? and what you just fry them up with some oil or eat them right off the ground after a good wash?

I for years used nitro green with great results, I now spread scotts 4 step program around on my own. Works perfectly.

I would even add that my lawn is the envy of the neighborhood...

Mother F'er!@!!!!.....Please elaborate? Any amount of compost added to garden bed will have negative impact? I just added 2-4 yards (2 heaping pickup loads) to my newly tilled garden. The Garden is 22' x 34' though. Will this amount of compost be bad? I got the compost from the city of Fargo. I never even thought of this. Damn it!!
