Sat in the tree stand yesterday evening, 15 miles SW of town. Seen 15 does/fawns and 2 little bucks,1 a basket rack 3x3 and 1 a 16" wide 4x4, they could of give 2 shits about the girls, they were just meandering around browsing on the grass and shrubs. Seen a 155" to 165" buck with 2 does Saturday morning and he just went where they went, not chasing by any means.

Sat with my bow tonight and this old buck we call Karen came past 3 times today running does.
He looked pooped, to much all day all night partying i guess!
Why the name? Our friends wife has dibs on him.

Sat yesterday south of Fargo about 15 miles from about 1:30 pm to dark. Only saw 2 does and 1 fawn. The area I hunt had a corn field right by it up until about a week ago so was seeing a lot of deer all summer. Since then, it seems like either all of the deer found another spot, are locked down, or something else is going on. Very little movement. Never even saw the does/fawn until about 5 minutes before legal shooting yesterday. I also sat on Saturday afternoon and Monday afternoon. Saw a doe and fawn Saturday running from something (never saw what) and nothing moving at all on Monday. Cameras reflect similar. A deer here or there, only 2 bucks the last 5 days. No "new" bucks. Seems very strange as I usually always see something during this peak period, especially the young bucks. So I'd guess either locked down or found a new food source and moved. Haven't even seen any "new" bucks like I seem to each year about this time either. I sit along a river edge, so there usually a lot of deer moving around. Not this year I guess.

Driving south and east of Hillsboro around lunch today I saw a Booner chasing a doe in an unharvested bean field.

Made my day.

Went out after work yesterday for last hour, saw my first two bucks....one little bit dinky spike by himself....and a big wide tall 2 x 2 inside his ears with two does, actually got all excited thinking he was a 4 x 4, but after looking thru binos to make sure how big he was, I gave him a pass, he was trying to check out the does, but the does were to busy looking at me 100 yds away...lol..they want nothing of him, but he stood there with them good 10 minutes or so before he decide to go over the hill..the does just stood there looking at me, finally I left, it was dark by then.

11/18 - all the does I saw today...none had bucks following them, wth??? At it again tomorrow.
11/19 - Hit plots before sunrise, saw does moving in the dark, saw another group of 4 does after sunrise, no bucks, what am I doing wrong, that everybody else is seeing rut activity and I have seen very minimal???

I hunted yesterday afternoon and seen my first chasing activity, a buck was running a doe and ran her off a flat into a draw and then 2 min later along came another buck came along on the same string line down into the draw the first buck and doe went into on the exact trail, then 3 minutes later and long came the third buck on the exact same line and disappeared into draw on exact trail also. Would have went after them but not enough time before end of shooting time. First 2 bucks looked like 4X4's and third was a little 2X2, these were whitetails and guessing she was very close to ready the way they were on her trail, I mean tail dukgnfsn

Today was a ‘embrace the suck’ kind of day. The lone deer that came in quite literally caught me with my pants down. He’s lucky cuz I would have stuck him and been quite happy about it. Be back Sunday.

This big husky bugger just happened!
Planned on sitting all day, it was darn cold up here in Manitoba. But on hour 8 he passed through at 2:30 and worked the scrape I was sitting on at 40 yds. Put him straight down with the .300 win tc venture.Thought I'd sit and freeze for a week and go home like usual. Glad that's not the case this year! :;:cheers

Put him straight down with the .300 win tc venture bush gun. Thought I'd sit and freeze for a week and go home like usual. Glad that's not the case this year! :;:cheers

I brought her sdmf but she sports a 5-25x50, not the best for hunting the bush. I do use it in the evenings when hunting bush/field edges.

Well here things to be lock down. Was headed into town and saw a buck tending a doe. 2 hrs later is was driving by and he mounted her 2 or 3 times. Didn't get the greatest look at him but at 200 yards he looked the biguest buck I had ever layed eyes on.
