You would think they would go through some kind of test to see if they can drive. My driveway off the township road is a good 20' wide and every fall I mark the edges with bright orange markers. Yesterday guy runs over all the markers on east side and runs off the side of driveway. Gets so much sideways I cannot get out to pull him over to get out. Had to call a buddy to come over to pull this guy out and the driver never got out of the van except to get my package. Company getting a call today. LB

Unfortunately in today’s world, companies can’t even think about qualified individuals for employment. At best they hope for a lukewarm body that lasts long enough to earn the $?000 bonuses a bunch of them are offering on top of $15+/hr they are paying. Amazing how far we have fallen

Yeup, see post #2. Complain too much to the company and you may not have another delivery driver for 6 months.

I have orange markers at my place too. They have all been ripped out by the city plow drivers. And I put them far out of the way and onto my property so they should not be an issue. We had 80 mph wind from Friday to Monday and were drifted in to the point we could not leave the house. First person I could find available with a skid steer was a 19 year old kid. He came over Tuesday and did a very clean and efficient job. Even cleaned up the mess the city contractor made of my approach.

It's literally everywhere here. Even the grocery store had an apology letter on the door one weekend because they had no one to stock shelves. Just had pallets laying around the store. All mechanics are 40-50 days out if your vehicle breaks down. Can't think of a single fast food place in town that has inside seating open. Most restaurants have cut hours and several have closed. The ones that are open we expect about 90 minutes to get food. And then people are such assholes that they're bitching at the few people in there that are trying to make it work and running their tails off. Only a matter of time before they've all had enough and are gone too.

People are tired of dealing with the public because everyone has become a-holes. If you get your delivery driver fired, don't complain if you don't get deliveries at all anymore because they can't replace him.

Older people are just saying to heck with it and retiring and not working a part time job anymore. Younger people are getting better jobs because of it and not needing to work in the service industry. The service industry basically needs immigrants at this point to keep it going.

I've said it before. A LOT of parents are not having their teens go out and get jobs. A lot. They're too busy having their kids play sports, gymnastics, dance, whatever. 16 yr old kids pretty much ALL used to have jobs. Not anymore. Nothing against any of those activities, but it used to be that they worked, and if they had time and keep their grades up, they could play sports. Now those things are instead of working.

And yes, so you go to Taco Bell, and they're running on a skeleton crew, so the drive-through is slow. What do people do? They chew the ass of the person making their food, then that person says "F this, why would I work, when I can get the same thing at home, doing nothing?". So, the line at the drive through gets slower.

Add in the impatience factor. High speed computers, information at our hands (internet on cell phones, messaging, etc), package shipping, store hours (open 24/7, holidays, etc.). The pendulum is swinging back and people are having a hard time with the world backing off the gas pedal. Being prepared whatever the case will continue to pay off as we move forward.

Unfortunately, I think we are becoming more and more of a Socialist society. Depend on big Govt for everything. Capitalism will be a thing of the past at this rate. Remember folks, you only get to choose to live in a Socialist state once.👮‍♂️

The Democrat party is a cover-up because they know if they used "Communist Party", then all the liberals in the large metro areas might finally catch on and understand they "F'd up".

The schools and teachers today are to busy teaching the next popular perversion to bother with basic math. I was in Taco Bell in Bismarck with five other people. I decided to buy a dozen of those frosting filled donut hole type desserts. I ordered a dozen and the guy about 22 or 23 years old says " we don't have a dozen we only have two, four, or twelve".

Those carrier drivers and mail carriers go through a lot , I'm sure they catch it from all directions and it gets stressful to the point where they just say enough is enough. If we have anything fresh baked they get a handout from me . I was looking at the wage trend and it's easier and not a lot less money for them to go to work elsewhere like a gas station or Walmart , then they can afford to spend time looking at thier phone while you wait for them to find time for work. Some of them are probably scrolling and posting on NDA. lol

Yep, those darn schools are just indoctrinating our kids to be idiots.

Seriously, even though I left the profession, you couldn’t be more wrong. Your statement is exactly what is wrong with society. Blame blame blame the schools. My three year old knows what a dozen is because I teach her. I work with her. We play and count. It starts at home and as a society we choose to blame everyone else rather than squaring up to the fact we’re doing shitty jobs as parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends.

I don’t disagree with the fact kids should know what a dozen is. But, put yourself in a situation where you have three kids who can do calculus, four that can do basic math, and three that couldn’t count to ten with their shoes off. When they get to a certain age, you can’t save all of them. That’s partly why I left. Kids with no support at home struggle throughout their educational journey get left behind when you try to serve the middle. And it’s nearly always a direct correlation to a lack of parenting. Blame the schools all you want, but ultimately creating good, productive humans starts and ends at home. And even worse that burden falls on society when they walk out into the world.

One thing about it if you don’t like your driver today just wait a couple days there will be a new one
This guy has delivered to my house 4 times and I have had to pull him out of he ditch 3times. its like the guy that cannot back a boat trailer at the ramp. I have changed my delivery address to my brothers address in town so that they can just drive by and its less of a headache for me. LB
