At current speeds at takes 23-25 minutes to get from casino to shell in nice conditions. Only real advantage to running fast is you get to run in clean water and not fight dozens of wakes, only gains you a handful of minutes
I took off boat 17 and 14 this year for the 4 Bears Casino. Rounded Pouch boat as 2 and boat 3. Was set and fishing before anyone else made it to Shell. I would surmise I added anywhere from 2-10 minutes of fishing time 1 way depending on who you compared our run to. Much of the run I drove with my knee as I didnt have to worry about anyone near us. Non tourney days I lope around at 45-52ish.

Let me ask you this ----if one starts running a 450hp your boat and next years NWT is out of garrison again when would you run out of gas running to the casino and back.

I would NOT drive WOT and make it to Pouch and back with fuel to spare. The new v10 is better on fuel than the Verado. Last years Yar tourney I left Garrison, went to 8lb, then Littlefield, then back to Douglas. Made it to the scales with 33% of a tank left.

What’s a fill up cost on these modern walleye yachts anyway?
55+ gallons at current premium prices is not fun, but better when your tournament partner is happy to pay for half to be running in the clean water out front rather than the 60+ boat shotgun start wake heavy stuff :)

I believe I was no where to be seen by the time anyone else got to shell but agree it's a slight advantage to run fast and fun. Everyone has a vice or too

From casino to west slides , back up to little field , shell(on the way) and back to casino wot has annoying flashing fuel lights on when you return

Is the old standard of hp/10=gph of fuel burned at WOT accurate with the new motors. My “old” F200 is on par with that, just a touch less maybe 18-19 gallons per hour WOT.

Quite expensive just to go chase waldos nowadays. 60+ gallons o premium for the boat, ope hang on gotta fill the tow rig too. Grab some shitty gas station breakfast, bait etc. Your balls deep before you even leave town.

I've got a '12 F200 on a 186 Yar-Craft that mirrors your GPH figures.
