Here. I used to show my grandma articles like this when a Nigerian prince was trying to let her in on big money making opportunities.

HOW TO NOT FALL FOR VIRAL SCARES

Regardless of the hoax. The picture of that "mother bird" sculpture and the context of the videos themselves are ridiculously unnerving to look at and think about... So it's more like a monster under the bed, compared to money in Nigeria. Fake nonetheless, but probably quite scary to younger minds nevertheless.

If anyone has a friend in the group Anonymous, this would be a better use than what they usually do with their hacking skills. Find us the A-holes responsible for going after the most vulnerable in our society, it'd go a long ways in generating some positive public relations for them.

Good god people you bitch about fake news then instantly turn into sheep and follow along with the crowd without doing the slightest bit of critical thinking or background checking. This is nothing more the latest in a long list of Internet hoaxes that people just automatically believe and don't bother checking up on slightly!

3 years ago we banned the kids cartoon "Peppa Pig" in our house. One day while my 5 year old was watching episodes of it on youtube, I just so happened to hear "Peppa" talking about killing her parents and baby brother in the middle of an episode. I actually had to watch it from start to finish on my own because I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. It started out as a normal harmless episode about a fricken pig with a british accent, then it turned very dark. I then went on to find a bunch more episodes with the same bullshit mixed into them.

This was 3 years ago... well before the "MoMo" bullshit popped up... those of you saying this is all just a hoax and fake news can get fucked. Luckily I caught this shit on my kids tablet before he was able to understand what "Peppa" was telling him he should go do...

There are some truly sick individuals in this world.

I don't give two fucks what Fox News, CNN or YouTube have to say about it...
I saw the bullshit about killing parents and siblings in the Peppa Pig videos on Youtube with my own eyes, at least 2 years BEFORE this "MoMo" shit was blown up and made into a mass hysteria "Hoax". Nobody told me about it, nobody told me to go looking for it, it wasn't sensationalized on tv or social media. I saw it because my son was watching what we thought was a harmless cartoon and I just so happened to hear what was said in the middle of the cartoon and went on to research it on my own.

How do you explain post #19? I'm not playing the devil's advocate but it doesn't hurt to be aware.
It's easy to explain...That video has nothing to do with momo. Momo is a supposedly hidden video inside of a regular video thatt just randomly appears. Where as the Peppa the Pig one is a literal episode along with many others like it that comes from a satirical website known as Horror Parody. Its what they do on the site but has no connection to the current viral craze of momo.

I am glad my kid was just old enough to not do pepa pig or that you tube stuff. Good old sponge bob and some luney tunes with old school violence with the road runner dropping anvils on the coyote. Also lots of shooting animals he really liked meat eater while younger. This shit is fucked up especially with little kids .

Ive seen it with my own eyes as well. So.... hoax or not doesnt matter at this point. 1. Peppa pig is a british talking gay little pig and should be banned by parents anyways for talking like a little british fruitcake. 2. Deleting you-tube or other media and getting kids away from screens is probably a good idea regardless if this is a hoax or not.

Just another "crisis" hyped up by the media. You should be more worried about the dangers McDonald's poses to your kids.

Isn't there a way the web could shut them down somehow? Might be a dumb question, but I'm not that techy! Just curious.

I'm sure the instant YouTube was aware of this they eliminated it. The last thing they want is the media spreading hysteria about their site and losing millions of viewers.

YouTube was unable to eliminate anything because when they searched their entire database they found nothing that match the Momo thread.

Guys - Momo or not, there is a ton of terrible stuff on the internet for our kids to discover. Be a parent....talk to them, mentor them, check on what they're doing online, and praise or discipline appropriately. Set limits and boundaries, then hold them accountable. I'd rather have my kids prepared rather than sheltered completely.

I bet Amish families riding in horse drawn carriages don't have as many issues as us people in the new world do..maybe they are the smart ones..just saying.

I look up to the Amish for doing what they do but it's not a lifestyle for everybody. I spent 5 days in Amish country with a guy that was friends with them and he couldn't drive past an Amish farm without stopping to visit for an hour, Not a worry in the world and nothing but time. It was a business trip and I was in a hurry , The first couple of days I could have slugged the guy but by the end I was in my comfort zone enjoying the time with them and no longer in a hurry. Good people , Once you get to know them they really open up and like to visit. I have lots of fond memories .
