Royce’s cruciate ligament appears to be effed.

Surgery advice is appreciated. Royce is six years old and 60 lb FYI.

I did the tightrope on a dog. Both knees. 2 years apart. They held til death. However, they absolutely can not be active while they heal up. You need scar tissue to form and things to tighten up or you run the risk of having to do it a 2nd time. Which I did for one knee. I think the tlpo is probably more forgiving. But, also more expensive.

prairie veterinary in Jamestown does quite a few of them I hear., the vet there was one of only three vets in the state that performed the surgery for quite a few years. costs up to two thousand dollars.

yes, Royce’s love of hunting exceeded his shitty showdog genetics

I’m pretty bummed out. We were doing pretty well with what seemed to be partial tears but skwerls/deer the other night somehow really did him in on his right hind.

Just do the tlpo. Get it over with. Even though it's more expensive, it's the guarantee success.

Royce is going under the knife tomorrow morning in Jamestown. He's getting the Tightrope.

I'll report on his progress now/then in hopes someone else can maybe benefit in the future when they search the archives.

A special tool is broken - they’re sending it in for repair. Grrr... surgery delayed.

Take a good look at this info. I decided not to do surgery when my 95# lab tore his when he was 9. He's 12 now. His hips suck but he really hasn't shown any side affects to the ACL . If you follow his advice then follow it to a T and I think you'll be happy with the results.
