I headed north expecting a good multi-species fishing trip.
What I found was one of the most unique fisheries I've fished in a long time.
Over the course of a single day, we caught giant walleye, aggressive smallmouth bass, and big northern pike in a remote stretch of Northwestern Ontario. The fishing was incredible, but what really blew my mind was what these fish were willing to eat. Some of the biggest walleye of the trip came on baits that most anglers would never think to throw for walleye.
This one turned into a full-on exploration day—covering water, figuring out new patterns, and discovering a fishery that completely exceeded my expectations.
