Hell you can't tell if it even was shot! It may very well have been sick or just as easily could have tangled with a car up on the highway. The video in and of itself shows no overt illegal activity other than the non-immediate tagging of the deer which almost every one of us is guilty of. This is a decent buck that was likely shot extremely close to one of my spots so I'm all for busting them but I just don't see how if this is all they have for evidence. I honestly think the game and fish is just throwing these cases out there in the hopes it will make them nervous enough that they won't go hog wild on their poaching.

The game and fish might charge them with animal cruelty which would be a bad precedent to set since what they did is basically no different than slitting the throat. They also are saying hunting without a license even though they don't know who they are so that is an interesting statement.

Woman Charged With Assaulting Her Mother at Protest Camp

Nevada woman has been charged with physically restraining and assaulting her mother at the protest camp near Cannonball.
A court affidavit says Kathleen Bennett of Las Vegas zip-tied her mother to a chair and did not always feed or clothe her.
She's also accused of hitting her with a shovel.
Bennett's mother, who has dementia, was eventually admitted to a hospital for injuries.
Bennett is schedule to be in court today.
Officials say the abuse happened in December, although the pair had been living at the Oceti Sakowin Camp in Morton County since October.

Yeah there is definitely a point where it sounds like a shot and I watched that part a couple times trying to see if anyone had a gun or if the deer or water showed any signs of a shot but could find nothing. It may have been a shot but it also may have been something hitting the sound mic making a gun like noise but who knows.

I think it was somebody off camera shooting. every shot seemed to make the deer go another direction.

Allot of people are of the mind that the deer was sick and or just drowning. If that's the case the game and fish might very well be able to catch them in a trap even if the story is a lie but a lie they go with. If you get them saying the deer was not shot by a hunter then the killing of the deer automatically becomes a crime. No different then someone putting down a deer that's sick that they come across well hunting they must first call the game and fish in to evaluate the situation and to not do so makes it poaching.
