I had to share this paragraph that I had to read in a financial class I'm taking at NDSU. I'm really happy to pay them tuition so I could learn this. I'll leave it for the group to weigh in on.
"Surprisingly, your brain may like paying taxes!Recent research suggests that people can feel good about paying taxes that improve others’ well-being.While most people would prefer to keep their money rather than pay taxes, paying taxes still is not the same thing as throwing the money away.Taxes can be viewed, even if only subconsciously, as a social good.And people don’t like inequality and seek to preserve a positive self-image, which means that most are unlikely to cheat on their taxes.Interestingly, there is evidence that many people work harder when they realize that they will be taxed.In a recent experiment, participants worked harder when paid $100 and there was a $10 tax than when they were paid $90 with no taxes due"
