I was going through some footage of this summer and found out my camera was recording during one of the scariest moments that happend to me this summer!

I've already beaten myself up over this a million times over.;:;banghead.. yes this could have ended deadly! Lucky it didn't... only reason I'm showing you this is hopefully it will help someone in the future to remember this key issue when boating!

Better a dent in the boat than a dent in your mellon. Glad you're still around to pass that lesson on!!

Great lesson and glad you're ok. That style of anchor appears to be particularly prone to such an event as well.

That's a new one. I've taken off with the stringer over the side, the minnow bucket out, the drift sock out, lines still in the water, and once with the trolling motor still down, but never the anchor.

What happened to your driver's side windshield? It appears to be missing.

Memorial day weekend a semi kicked up a rock and knocked it out :(

This EXACT thing happened to me and my dad about 10 years ago right after we got done seining minnows, exact anchor to. We had less rope out cause we were in shallow water and the anchor ended up in the front of the boat, barely missed out heads and was very f'n scary! Will never make that mistake again

I'd have deleted the video. Or burned my GoPro. None of you would have seen me do this.

Yea it's kinda embarrassing but I thought if there is a possibility it might help someone in the future it's worth sharing.

I see another mistake.......On plane without wearing a lifejacket.

This is a good video....I never would have thought an anchor could do that.

Was the anchor actually in the water and you drug it with or did it fall off the back of the boat while under way?
Wow you are a lucky man and thanks for the safety lesson. Unreal it could be thrown forward with the velocity it had.:whaaaa:

Remember dragging walleyes on a stringer and the minnow bucket at high speed along boat. Nothing like having a bunch of walleye fly out of the water and smacking you along side of the head.
