I'd talk to the owner and offer the use of your bark collar. Had the same situation when I lived in my old development. Neighbor got a new pup and started barking constantly. I talked to them and offered my bark collar as they had never heard of them and we were both pleased with the outcome.

Have a cordial conversation with the owner first and let them try to remedy the problem. Let them know you will be forced to report it if not taken care of shortly. My luck with with beer idea the guy would be a relocated Mormon or something. That or you could tell him the barking turns you on and you will be forced into beastiality with his dog if it doesn't quit. Your choice.

P.S. If you go with route 2 please video as it would be comedy gold if you can keep a straight face.

If I found out a neighbor intentionality poisoned my dog with out talking to me I would board up every exit to his house and burn it down with him in it. I would think talking to the person would be the best option.

Good thing I don't have neighbors

Fck me, that was a solution to a problem that would work like a charm, sensitivity meter is pegged! I couldn't do it unless it was a little ankle biter and the neighbor was a total shitstain, a cat on the other hand. I've had to shoot plenty of dogs, cows and a few horses, never bothered me, I guess I don't see them as some people do.

Don't have a sensitive meter but have a try not to be a cock sucker meter and poisoning some ones pet pegs that mother fucker. I am guessing the cows horses and other animals were in the farm and shooting something to put it down is way different than poisoning animals.

A cocksucker is some substandard human being that puts a mangy ass dog outside and lets it barks its ass off for hours, that is rude, it's bullshit and that should peg your cocksucker meter. It's a GD dog and that's how I see it, it takes all types and I'm not the guy to feel bad about taking care of a dog that the owner is too stupid to realize or listen to reason. There are men put on the planet to do the dirty work and then there are the other 99.99 percent, spend a huge portion of your life pulling triggers on humans and training for it, you'll see shit a little different.

Yep they are a cock sucker to but you are no better by going and poisoning the dog with out talking to the owner your changing your fucking toon guy and making it fit what you think is OK this has nothing to do with shooting people training or the 99 % as I am sure there are plenty of guys who have trained and killed more people who would think poisoning a neighbors dog with oit talking to them is being a cock sucker. Doing the right thing when no one is looking is part of the code of conduct...You decide would that be the right thing? Re read the OP has he even talked to the owner yet? So you are making up fantasy situation that does not even exist yet at this point.

I don't have the time of day for anyone that would shoot or kill a pet due to the owners lack of responsibility.

Until some dogs wander off, find your yard and chase your calves through a fence and you spend a day getting those little bastards back home.

That is another made up scenario to fit your reasoning. Of course there are situations that would call for it but you are just trying to justify yourself after being wrong. You said poison not shoot and I am pretty sure johnr does not have any calves at his insurance agency

So, the dog has mange? If someone's calves start romping through my acreage, I can shoot them? Can I eat them too? Is calf ownership contingent on fence building skills? Is this fishing buddy? Is it Februrary yet?

Not made up, and if I would have seen them again they both would have taken a dirt nap and I wouldn't have looked for the owner and I wouldn't have felt bad. We're not going to agree.

IMO, there's virtually no difference in owner dumbassery between a wild-running rural dog or a noisy/misbehaving urban dog. That said, there's lots of difference in the outcomes of those dog's actions.

Running rural dogs, especially repeat offenders that wreak havoc with livestock or wild animals, I have 0 sympathy for what happens to them. In that situation, the party being subjected to the wrongs of said dog are IMO welcome to deal with the situation quickly, decisively, and have little to no obligation to consult with the dumbass owner.

"Annoying" urban dogs that make lots of noise or say poop where they shouldn't are just exactly that, annoying. Try the nice-guy route 1st then involve animal control if the matter persists. Grilled T-bone bones with some scraps still attached or trimmed up venison from shoulder bones will give "dog food only" dogs a pretty serious case of the runs. If they're a house dog this may motivate the owner to keep a closer eye on them. It's a self-correcting 24-36hr issue.

Johnr has wild running dogs chasing calves hmm missed that part of his story. You said poison a dog in town. You changed the circumstances to match your narrative. Now a dog chasing calves through fences is a whole different circumstance.

That is how I feel and put way more nicer than I put it

Good post SDMF, one thing to remember is, dogs need to be trained to do things that they are, or are not supposed to do. A misbehaving dog, no mater what that misbehaving is, you need to remember it is not the dogs fault, but the DUMBASS owners fault. If I had cattle and I caught a dog chasing them I would definitely shoot it, but then I would call the law to come and get it to see if they could locate the owner. A barking dog, I would talk to the owner first and if that doesn't fix the problem then I would call animal control and have them take care of it.

Funny how the same people that preach how awful it is to kill someone's dog because it's their pet have no problem shooting some little girls cat. I have run across way more dogs that are a pain in the ass while out doing outdoor activities than any cat will ever come close to. When shore fishing or camping people seem to think no one minds there dog running around sniffing everyone's ass, tearing open garbage bags, barking at you and in some cases biting people. Not everyone is OK with your dog. Everyone like a good dog, a dumb dog not so much. No matter how good your dog is keep it in your camp site or on your property.
