Yep he's lucky the feds are not going after him for breaking the endangered species act or that could have got real painful. Curious why he didn't finish it off?

Hopefully the ESA is fixed so he would not have to worry about it as woofs are not endangered or going to be endangered there are a lot of the no good things all over the world.

Have seen a few when up north that are easily over 100 lbs. Have a friend up there that has a rug and the head is not too much smaller than the one in the pic. The head isn;t much smaller than a basket ball. he said that one was just over 160.

This area is only a 5 hour drive away and they have several packs around the area. They lose a far number of cattle (mostly calves) in the area.

Have seen some interesting things up there in what wolves can do. It would be harder to mistake a wolf for a coyote than it would not too.

On another site, in another time, in a galaxy far away...........a retired doctor that was concerned with right wing shenanigans lamblasted Wyoming for not cow towing to the Feds on their wolf management plan becasue it messed with his hunting opportunities.

Seems Wyoming was right in sticking to their guns.

"The most recent confirmed wolf in North Dakota was reported in December 2014 in Bowman County, where scat from an animal that had been killing domestic sheep was confirmed as a gray wolf, Tucker said. There were no further reports of the animal, she said. In 2012, some hunters in McKenzie County killed what proved to be a wolf, Tucker said. The most recent confirmed gray wolf in the Red River Valley occurred in January 2011, when a coyote hunter killed a wolf near Hillsboro, N.D."

I remember when the news about that Hillsboro hunter came out, but can't remember if he was fined or not. I do believe it happened in March, as well! Weird, stuff...

Uncle lives and ranches near Gonvick Mn. about 50 miles east of Grand Forks. They deal with wolves on a regular basis.

It's not too bad he got caught. He shot an animal and didn't finish it off. Sorry, that's not a sportsman.

That's true. Too bad it had to suffer. He should have finished it off. But I'm still glad to see one less such animal in our state. Last thing we need is for them to get any type of foothold here whatsoever.
