Hi folks. I'm Guy W. Fishes, exclusive Pro staff member for Skegosaurus[SUP]Ⓡ[/SUP] Steering Systems with your Pro pointer for the day.

Today I want to talk about a problem a lot of anglers have after getting your electronics tied to your Skeg'd Motorguide xi5. That is, getting those electronics up in your grill so you can take full advantage of that Skegosaurus!

Tiller folks like me with outdated little cubbies for storage of graphs need to think out of the box. For us, those bins full of chrome doo-dads at Menards are the Erector Set of the modern age! Using a combination of standoffs from that bin, along with a little beer and staring at the problem for about a day or so, you can hang your electronics right up in your grill no matter what a crap cluster your panels, knobs, or gages are out in front of you.

I attached photos below to inspire you to get those electronics up in your face so that you too can "Skeg Like a Pro[SUP]Ⓡ[/SUP]". Until next time, troll on fellow anglers! :;:howdy

What the hell is all that stuff? Are you planning to fly that boat? Let me guess, it can make the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs...

By the way I posted this for fun - please don't take me seriously with the Skeg Pro BS. ;:;rofl

Those standoffs are stupid handy though and pisses me off I haven't figured that out sooner. You do need strong panel behind a ram mount ball though and I got lucky in that there's a welded aluminum wall dividing the space right under it. I'd have used lots of bar stock behind it as "washers" for the 5/16" screws had it not been for that wall - so I got by with washers.

I switched to Cisco mounts this year. So far so good but I haven't but any rough water with them.

What's it take to get Skegosauraus Pro Team status?

You have to have won a Skeg Pro Invitational Angle-Off against a current Pro (Iron Chef type event).

Maybe you'll get lucky and get drawn to compete this summer.

I got the itch BAD and Mills Fleet had these Rams in stock - ha ha.

The Cisco are surely better. I think the standoff install would have worked fine with the Cisco base too eh?

Is that shield around the jumbotron to keep the sun glare off or so pirates can't steal top secret fishing info?

it's only an HDS 9 Gen 2 by the way - they were cheap last year - way cheaper now I imagine

Guywhofishes' Skegosaur'd tiller versus Duckslayer's 16-foot Alumacraft hand-me-down. I can't wait to see the bags at the end of that tournament! How much do three 8-ounce perch weigh? No, wait...don't answer that...

I can finally touch the graph without my seat! It used to be down in that box. Geez did that get old leaning forward off that seat - back destroyer.

No, wrong format - both fish "in the same kitchen" - side by side in the Skegmobile. That way The Pro can keep a sharp eye out for cheating.

Why don't you use a double ball mount like these. Are they junk? It's what I have, but I'm not up to 9" yet. The added tilt bracket looks out of place.

this is what I used - the short arm 3.25" ball system - anything smaller ball-sized is impossible to lock if there's any decent lever arm distance and waves/bounce - and there is since I fish Devils a few times a year

You got to have big balls. I think I have a case of the small balls. I have to give it an extra twist when it starts to sag whilst bouncing across the waves.

So Guy when are you going to figure out a heads up display on a sunvisor face shield. That should keep you awake a few nights. ::closerlook:::
