Day one is in and again I see no 5, 5.5 or 6 lb average weights for day one as aforementioned. Most of the top teams had kickerfish over 6lbs to bring their total and average weights up. With day two usually being a bit tougher, I presume we won’t be seeing these above average weights either for anyone. A good average for the Gov's Cup is always 16 to 18 lbs a day for five fish with a two day weight of 38lbs putting you very close to the top! Some may catch some good 5 fish limits of the aforementioned bigger fish throughout the year, but it just does not happen that often this way -- out west, a lot more common! I am not sure why either as the eastend and east arm each have some of the best structure as anywhere in the lake -- and it is not as if it is lacking any bait either! It is good to see Clayton F. doing well and a couple friends of mine from work too -- Go Matt and Dan!

Looks like last update an hour ago was 40.05 leading, next guys were in the 37 range. Can anybody confirm if that’s the winning weight?

I was 2.5# off with my guess of 38.5. Funny how all those 5-6# prefishing limits turn into 3-4# when they hit the scale.

Congrats to the winners of the cup! Also Congrats to Ristorapper for winning the weight contest. We've decided because he was so close, we are going to go ahead and throw in the spool of rigs of his choosing. Congrats again! By the way we will be at the Pride Of Dakota day at the ND State Fair tomorrow if anyone wants to stop by and say hi!

Where were the fishing? How deep? How fast? And what were they using? Tourneys over, spill the beans.

Here's what they had said via the live feed on facebook. Somewhere between Garrison and Highway 83. 20-30 feet deep with 23 feet being the sweet spot and related to shoreline not humps!! Don't recall saying what they were using. GO~!!!!
